Common Editing for Flawless Photos
One of the first questions I get asked when booking a shoot is “Are these photos going to be edited?”
My response: Of course!!!
Beyond adjusting for light and color, photos can sometimes need a little extra editing. Whether it’s other people on the beach, clothing mishaps (re: an open fly), or areas where the client is self-conscious, editing can remove imperfections and allow the photo to shine.
Below I’ve highlighted some of the common edits I make in photos. If there is anything you’re concerned about in the photos for your shoot, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
Everyone Looking at the Camera
While this isn’t always an option, sometimes editing is possible to make sure everyone is looking at the camera. In this case, I had another photo to sample from where the child was looking at the camera.
Removing Burn Marks
This client was self-conscious of the burn healing on her left arm. I told her no worries! It’s a simple edit so the burn is no longer noticeable.
Removing People from the Beach
This is a standard edit I use across the board when there are other beach-goers in the shot. It will always appear as if you and your family are the only ones on the beach!
Removing Unsightly Patterns
The client didn’t want the diaper visible. Instead of using a different photo, I removed the pattern on the diaper to give the photo a cleaner look.
Minor Skin Imperfections
Some clients are self-conscious about skin imperfections and sunburns.
I hope you enjoyed this list of edits. If you have any concerns prior to the shoot, please let me know so I can plan for them and be mindful as I edit the photos.
